Biography

Hello, my name is Ashonda Allen and I am a senior in the Interior Architecture & Design program. What I enjoy about the designing is that there are various styles that can be created within an interior space. With that you can create an environment that you can express a client’s needs or yourself. I love creating spaces that people can interact with and feel comfortable in. Throughout my years in college being an Interior Design student allows me to go beyond my creativity and express my uniqueness.

For my senior thesis, I am creating a senior living community. When I was younger, I had the opportunity to work alongside my grandmother in a nursing home and for some time I have always wanted to explore the hospitality side. This is something that I am passionate about. The senior living community will take its new construction over a small winery in Palisades, CO. With this project I wanted to resolve some of the issues I have noticed that have lacked through the senior community I worked at, as well as other I have visited and researched. Overall, I want to create a sense of community for seniors.
