About Rowan Rountree-Hanscom

Rowan Rountree-Hanscom is an award-winning recent college graduate with a BFA in Animation & Game Arts. She aspires to work professionally as a 3D artist, preferably for video games and entertainment purposes. Her love for video games and art in childhood led her work towards becoming a video game artist. Rowan is a hard worker, driven to improve her skillset to one day work on triple-A games. She was first recognized for her art by The Commonwealth of Massachusetts when she was awarded 2nd place in the Congressional Art Competition’s painting category. She has also won multiple awards from the Foxborough Street Painting Festival for her original artwork.

Statement

Rowan’s capstone project was inspired by her childhood imagination. Since she was little, she dreamt up stories of great fantasy and adventure. She always dreamed of bringing them to life, but never felt that her art was adequate to do her stories justice. Her senior capstone was her chance to do so. The comic is her way of bringing her original stories to life, even though she does not intend to become a comic book artist. Creating original 3D models of the characters in the comic was her way to ensure that her major was represented in her final capstone.
