About Melissa Antonelli

I’m Missy, an aspiring 3D artist from Westport, Massachusetts. My art is meant to push the boundaries of reality, bringing the mystical and dreamish to life through color, form and composition. My inspiration comes mostly from my lifelong love of video games, such as League of Legends and God of War, but I also find myself inspired by darker color pallets and horror themes.

Statement

Artistic style is something that every artist struggles with throughout their craft, changing and growing as they develop and hone their skills. As I progressed through my education, I realized that my passion was 3D art, making me want to drastically shift all my focus from 2D creation to 3D asset and character creation. My capstone is meant to reflect that change, capturing my strengths as a 3D artist while also representing the trials and tribulations it took to get there. My focus was to create a full-scale prop that was game integration ready, something that could flex my creativity while also showcasing my strengths through a production pipeline: such as, original concept creation, retopology, UV unwrapping, texturing, lighting, baking, sculpting, and modeling.
