About Maple Song

Maple Song is a concept artist and illustrator from Malden, Massachusetts. She enjoys visualizing environments, characters, and props with the goal of making them feel integrated into a greater world influenced by many factors—inhabitants, weather, culture, and so forth. She has a love of fantasy, anime, music, and stories that inspires her art. When not attending to obligations, you will find her watching gaming streams while sketching in Photoshop.

Statement

Spirit is the beginning of a game concept to help children develop emotional intelligence while following a newborn spirit’s journey through a manor inhabited by friendly creatures. Play with animate objects, comfort wistful ghosts, and share stories with creatures of all kinds while identifying and applying emotional knowledge. Navigate through dialogue and help solve conflicts between characters in this 2D visual novel. In my capstone, I aim to establish the fundamental game systems and create concept art for the game’s setting.
