About Maxmillian Brown
Maxmillian Brown is an artist who started their artistic career 8 years ago and transferred into the animation and game arts program in UMass Dartmouth approximately 2 years ago after participating in a community college for two years.
Artist Statement
Maxmillian’s artistic process involves creating references from real-poses then painting the black and white forms in order to get the underlying shading, moving onto the color then finishing the piece. Maxmillian, before starting a project, meticulously studies the subjects that they are portraying in their work (ie. Monsters, then studying various predator animals. Art genres, then studying art history, etc…). Then, Maxmillian prepares the proverbial canvas by working on 3D models to paint on top of, or perhaps learning to code in order to better engage with a game engine. Finally, this allows Maxmillian to be better prepared when they get onto the canvas and get to creating, often, macabre and strange subjects. Such as pseudo religious monsters, demons, and dream spectacles.
