About Finn Jarzynski

Finn Jarzynski is an illustrator based in Southeastern Massachusetts, with a passion for character design and storytelling. While their major is in illustration, studying at CVPA allowed them to explore other avenues such as 3D Modeling and other mediums. They have a love for the Cyberpunk genre and other things sci-fi. Their favorite pieces of media include Cyberpunk: RED, Ghostrunner, Horizon Zero Dawn and so much more.

Statement

For my Senior Capstone Project, I wanted to create a series of illustrations that commemorate the time spent tabletop roleplaying games with friends. As one of many people that play, tabletop games can offer an escape from reality, especially when times are tough. I think I can speak for everyone when I say that the COVID-19 pandemic was a difficult time for all of us. Playing tabletop was a very cathartic experience for me because it allowed me to have fun and create memorable stories with the people I care about during a time when I felt very depressed. I got to create awesome characters and help with worldbuilding the setting in which we play in. If you are thinking about playing tabletop games for the very first time, I highly recommend picking it up.

A lot of my pieces focus on the interactions between characters (whether it be my own or friends), what their personalities are like, and how they interact with the world around them. Needless to say, I had a lot of fun with this project, and I felt it was important to choose something I love because that’s what keeps me going.
