About Brendan Lampinski

My name is Brendan Lampinski, I am an animator and character designer from Pawtucket, Rhode Island. I am graduating from the College of Visual and Performing Arts with a BFA in Animation + Game Arts and a minor in Illustration in May of 2023. I love to create my own stories and really want to convey them in my work. I remember telling my friends my ideas and they always told me to write them down. Their encouragement has motivated me to pursue a future in storytelling. I’ve chosen animation and illustration to do so because visual storytelling combines both my love for digital art and making fictional stories. I dream that one day I will publish my own animated and comic book series.

Statement

Creating my own stories has always been my favorite aspect of creating animation. Making characters and making the world they interact with is satisfying to see. Visualizing the character in my world help builds upon the story and only the character can tell the story that I make. Influenced by the classic cartoons, comics, anime, and movies from Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Toei Animations, DC Comics, and Marvel Comics have impact on the stories I create. Seeing their characters interact with each other and taking on the problem they face was so inspiring to me. The dialogue, the action, and the scenes that they convey brings life to the story. In my work as an animator and character designer, I want to achieve making my own original stories and have my viewers engage with them.
