About Audrey Moniz

Audrey Moniz is a Graphic Designer based in Westport, Massachusetts. She is currently enrolled at The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, studying for her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design, and is looking forward to graduating in the Spring of 2023. Audrey’s passion for design sparked her junior year of high school where she was given the tools to explore the many ways of creating art digitally. Her work includes brand identity, package design, UX/UI, typography, and product design. When she isn't designing you can find Audrey scrounging the local thrift store for the best deals, exploring new coffee shops, and spending time with her family and friends.

Statement

My hometown of Westport, Massachusetts has always appeared ordinary to my eyes. Its beauty and rich history were something that I had always taken for granted. It wasn’t until I was exposed to the local community surrounding me, that I realized the richness of this quaint little town by the sea. My part-time job at Lees Market introduced the nearby, and otherwise unnoticed, farms and homegrown businesses that have populated the Westport community for decades. Emphasizing the history of its landscapes, beaches, and origins of coastal living provides its observers with context and recognition of the hidden gem at hand. Coaksett & Co. is an outdoor living company, paying homage to my youth and the beautiful town that unceasingly contributes to my identity. The name “Coaksett” was originally used to identify the surrounding lands and rivers that neighbored the western most port of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. Combining memory with the town's historic roots, this project captures the essence of community and beauty the town of Westport provides.
