About Roman Petrov

Roman Petrov is a graphic design major with a minor in drawing, from Bellingham, Massachusetts. His favorite parts of being on campus include exploring the architecture and using the campus as his jogging route. Roman is primarily interested in unconventional design practices, and combining different techniques to create new visual styles. He is inspired by the oftentimes innovative nature of graphic design.

Statement

Music has been a staple in my life since I was born. There was always music playing in the house, and I was encouraged to play and make music of my own. This interest has carried into adulthood, where I have found myself making songs and beats outside of class. I began to develop an interest into the design of music; not just how the packaging works for music, but how a sound—based art form can integrate into a 2—dimensional space. This is what led me to create my degree project, where I explore the connections between music and graphic design.
