About Nathaniel Joslyn

Nathaniel Joslyn is a 23 year old Graphic Designer from Lowell Massachusetts. In his early years he was not focused towards art As a possible path in life but with determination to be better than his eldest sister he made it a personal goal to be able to create something that would benefit not only him but others around him. Nathaniel started working on his thesis before he had known what it was he wanted to do. As a child Nathaniel learned a lot in the kitchen which formed his first art form that he was passionate about. Although Nathaniel is still on his path to obtain his Bachelor in Graphic Design he sees it as more opportunity to get better with more practice with his skills.

Statement 

My thesis includes two books each containing forty eight pages. This project is based off of my passion for cooking and the culinary arts. With recipes ranging from three separate cultures along with the translations to the native languages of the cultures, I have curated and composed a book that anyone would be able to read and cook these recipes. With having a both skills as a graphic designer and culinary discipline I was able to put together a complete book for enjoyment and learning possibilities. I had chosen The cultures of Italian, Greek, and Japanese respectively to showcase some of my passions. I chose Italian for my family lineage, With Greek I had chosen for the fact that it was the first culture of food I had learned from my late mentor as a child. Lastly I had chosen Japanese for being a culture that I am most interested in in both the art and culinary world but also the overall culture of the country. With the assistance of family members of friends from each culture I was able to translate each recipe.
