Art + Design: Animation + Game Arts

About Lexia Light

Lexia has spent the last four years learning Animation and Game Arts at the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth and is particularly inspired by 2D animation with an emphasis on storytelling, in TV and film.  They have focused on 2D and 3D animation and have also enjoyed creating art in three-dimensional media such as clay and metal.  In their overall portfolio, they frequently delve into their favorite genres of fantasy and mythology.  They have also been influenced by the illustration styles of Matteusz Skuntnik and Dana Terrace.

Statement

Lexia’s capstone project explores the idea of mystery and minimalism in storytelling, testing out what elements an audience needs to create a story for themselves from the visual pieces that are presented. It also plays with change and growth, using magic and transformation to appeal to the sense of the unexpected.
