About Lauren X Froeberg

Lauren is a 3D artist and animator from Massachusetts. She has had an interest in art since early childhood, and an affinity for 3D animation since first delving into it at the Digital Media Academy in 2017. While currently focused on 3D Modeling, she also spends time writing stories, worldbuilding, and song writing. Her general philosophy is that art without fun is a waste of time. Around campus, Lauren has been involved with a mix of different clubs, Mental Note A capella, Krav Maga, 20 Cent Fiction production company, and the illustration club.

Statement

Lauren’s Capstone project is an original tv show called Wrascal, a 2D cartoon series intended for a young audience. She has produced the theme song and accompanying animation, as well as character sheets and the outline of the pilot episode. Her love for cartoons like Adventure Time, Regular Show, The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, and the drive to create something intriguing, edgy, and most of all fun, has influenced her decision to pursue this as her capstone.

Wrascal is about a low level demon (Wrascal) sent to earth for being too mischievous and not evil enough. Mistaken for a regular house cat, he finds himself taken in (by force!) by a kind old lady and her terribly annoying, and sometimes sinister, family. With no intent to change his ways, Wrascal will continue to cause problems on purpose, though he would like to get home eventually…
