About Lauren Jackman

Lauren Jackman is a designer living in Dartmouth, Massachusetts with a passion for poster and book design. She will graduate from the College of Visual and Performing Arts with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. She enjoys punchy, eye-catching visuals, clean design, and perfected typography. She immerses herself in the challenges that come with the design process; from ideation & experimentation to print.

Statement

Lauren was interested in fashion from a young age as a way to creatively express herself. She enjoyed fashion different from that of her peers. After a fashion retail job experience, Lauren looked for ways to incorporate fashion into her designs. The outcome was an artistic take on a historical overview of women’s fashion with an emphasis on the effects of fast fashion. Fast Fashion is when inexpensive clothing is produced rapidly by mass-market retailers in response to the latest trends. Fast fashion is detrimental to the environment and the working conditions for those employed by such companies are deplorable.
