About Cherry Wu

Cherry Wu is an Illustration major and Game Design minor interested in illustrating stories. The oldest of four, born and raised in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, they graduated from Jaqueline M. Walsh High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in 2018. Full of ideas and finally confident enough to share them to their heart's content, they’re going full steam ahead into making a comic, board game, quick video game, and so much more.

Statement

I’ve always been fascinated with pre-production: things like character design, environments, and splash pages. All of which could can breathe life into a story instantly. In preparation for things I would like to do in the future, I decided to focus on pre-production of my own personal stories, which migrated to specifically character design and character-centric imagery. Though it would seem like a natural progression to some, it was a challenge that I never delved much into in fear of not being “good enough.” Gladly over such fear (though still with doubts), I present some images for my stories Cereal Quest and Half Note, and some of the characters that will be present in those stories.
