Statement

My project “The Love and Violence Collection” explores lives affected by the pandemic, from the most extreme acts of violence and to the most intimate acts of love and peace. My figurative choices convey strong emotions, sometimes bending the idea of what is love and what is toxic.

This art expands on my emotions in such speed and fury, it captured the essence of what I felt on certain days. Allowing a release of raw passion on to my work. Every line, to every color marked on my work is hundred percent honest to who I am. This speed allowed me to create my work in a rapid pace, gaining the advantage of large amounts of ideas that would be painted with ease.

What my art differs from my peers, was my unique markings and style to my work. Since the very day I arrived to the university, my markings have stuck close to my peers, professors, and all that witnessed my work. My fellow artists would know it’s my work by just a single shape, and dark bold lines full of exaggerated color. It is undeniably “Harrison.”

I also wanted to thank and dedicate my collection to my grandfather who has passed. Without him I would have not reached this university, nor would I have met all the talented artists and people I had the honor to work with my years here.
