Statement
At the start of my capstone project, I had designed and developed a murder mystery board game in which one player was the murderer and the other players were trying to determine who they were. During that period of development, I started to really think about what kind of career I wanted for myself and what I was the most passionate about within Animation and Game Art. The answer was 3D modeling. Not wanting to abandon the project I had been working on, I adapted parts of it into my new capstone idea.
With my original idea being a board game, I 3D modeled six-character pieces from my original character ideas. Each one is specifically designed to reflect the type of person that one would be playing as. For example, the caduceus is a doctor, and the phone represents a teenager. I also 3D modeled a mansion, which was to be the main location for the game. This was the largest and most challenging piece, but it was also the most fun to create. The time I spent working on my capstone really confirmed my personal interests in 3D modeling and I’m super pleased with the result.
