MUS 319: Advanced Musical Listening - fall
Prerequisite: 6 credits of MUS courses or permission of instructor.
General Education requirement: 1C - Intermediate Writing
Study of philosophies, skills, and practices associated with active listening. Students will develop the skills necessary for intelligent discrimination of the variety of music available in live and recorded formats. In addition, they will study the approaches to musical engagements and their philosophical underpinnings. Emphasis is placed on the potential of listening for understanding of self and world.
