MAR 543: Fishery Stock Identification - fall
This course provides instruction and demonstration of a wide range of methods used to identify population structure of fishery resources, including life history traits, morphology, environmental signals, genetics, dispersal modeling and marking techniques. Methodological reviews include historical development, benchmark case studies, critique of current issues, interdisciplinary synthesis and prescriptions for the best practice for stock identification. Applications in fisheries science will be described to promote an interdisciplinary approach to stock identification.
