UMass Law Commonwealth Fellows program

UMass School of Law Commonwealth Fellows program offers a $5,000 scholarship for qualified applicants who meet the three following criteria:

  • must be a Massachusetts resident or have attended a UMass or State University/College as an undergraduate,
  • must score a 152 or higher on the LSAT, and
  • must earn a 3.0 or higher undergraduate GPA.

Each UMass Law application is reviewed to determine if you meet the criteria for the Fellows scholarship, and there is no separate application necessary. Additional need and merit-based aid is available to the Fellows, above and beyond the $5,000 scholarship.

Students who meet the qualifying criteria are guaranteed acceptance barring any character and fitness issues and will have a decision within two weeks of a file becoming completed.

Pursue Justice at UMass Law

UMass Law teaches the principles and rules of law, as well as the essential theoretical frameworks. Pro bono work, internships, and Law School clinics are part of the curriculum to ensure extensive experiential learning. It is a legal education that builds the fundamental skills and values that will support the pursuit of justice.
