Getting to know long time ESOL Instructor

Matt has been an ESOL instructor at UMass Dartmouth Workers’ Education Program for over 20 years. He enjoys teaching at the WEP because of his students and colleagues. Matthew’s students say he is an excellent teacher. He is very helpful, patient, kind, and friendly. He motivates them to learn English! Matthew likes to be with family, play music with friends, be outdoors, and go to art and cultural events. One of his favorite quotes is “always expect the unexpected.” He thinks success is being happy, earning respect, and finding peace. Hey, this might surprise you, he used to vacuum police cars for the city of New Bedford.
