Dean of the College of Engineering
Reporting directly to the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, the Dean is the leader of the college, overseeing a vibrant academic enterprise that serves roughly 900 undergraduate students in 16 academic program areas and approximately 675 graduate students in 12 programs each year. The Dean leads, supports, and advocates for a talented and diverse faculty of dedicated scholars and teachers, comprised of 46 tenure-line faculty and 25 full- and part-time teaching faculty in six academic departments. It also encompasses the Cyber Security Center, which the NSA has designated as a National Center of Excellence in Cybersecurity Research. U.S. News & World Report ranks the College of Engineering in the top 150 engineering schools among doctorate-granting universities.
In keeping with UMass Dartmouth’s mission of promoting engaged teaching and learning, innovative research, and student success, the Dean of the College of Engineering will uphold high standards for academic programs, scholarship, and research practice; advance diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts across the college and the university; promote sustained enrollment growth; and further strengthen UMass Dartmouth’s national profile and reputation.
