Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences

Reporting directly to the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, the Dean is the leader of the college, overseeing a vibrant academic enterprise that serves roughly 1850 undergraduate students in 20+ majors and approximately 200 graduate students in 26 programs each year. The Dean leads, supports and advocates for a talented and diverse faculty of dedicated scholars and teachers, comprised of 108 tenure-line faculty and 95 full- and part-time teaching faculty in 20 academic departments. The college also encompasses the School of Education, the Center for Portuguese Studies and Culture, the Center for Indic Studies, the Boivin Center, the Kaput Center for Research & Innovation in STEM Education, the Ora M. DeJesus Gerontology Center, and the Arnold M. Dubin Labor Education Center. 

In keeping with UMass Dartmouth’s mission of promoting engaged teaching and learning, innovative research, and student success, the Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences will uphold high standards for academic programs, scholarship and research practice; advance diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts across the college and the university; promote sustained enrollment growth; and further strengthen UMass Dartmouth’s national profile and reputation.
